AG Bedding Products

All AG bedding products appear to have their advantages and disadvantages within different farming systems. We as manufacturers of the AG Products and also as farmers have been fortunate in seeing many different farming methods.

This enables us to advise and help with bedding requirements. If we can be of any assistance, with your bedding products, please do not hesitate to contact us.

CRUSHED HUSKS

CRUSHED HUSKS CRUSHED HUSKS

  • Can be used in either feed or as bedding or both. It also has the following qualities
  • Soft – Absorbent and aesthetically pleasing by livestock farmers
  • 6% – 8% moisture content resulting in 20% more efficiency than sawdust
  • High Fibre feed value
  • Readily available all year round

  • Can be mixed in conjunction with other products e.g. gypsum

GYPSUM

GYPSUM
  • Less mastitis and reduced cell counts and improved milk yield
  • Gypsum is Calcium Sulphate Dihydrate (19% Ca, 21% Sulphur)
  • Saves nitrogen fertiliser and provides good levels of Calcium and Sulphur resulting in a higher yielding grassland – at reduced input costs
  • PH 7 – no burns or sores normally associated with ash or lime based products
  • A soft product that is readily accepted by livestock
  • Gypsum powder can be used on both cubicles and loose housing.
  • Gypsum is a well accepted soil conditioner for correcting calcium: magnesium imbalances and sulphur deficiencies. Improves compacted soils, soil structure, drainage, water logging etc
  • Note: From experience gypsum can and will go hard on cubicles and we would advise people to mix this product with either paper, sawdust or straw. This can be supplied in Walking floors, Artic Tippers and 8 Wheelers

GYPSUM & PAPER MIX

GYPSUM & PAPER MIX
  • The gypsum and paper mix is for customers who are finding that the gypsum is going abit tacky on the cubicle beds and looks to be sticking. The paper keeps the gypsum moving and bulks the bedding product up, but it keeps all of the qualities of the gypsum
  • This can only be supplied in Artic Walking Floors

GYPSUM PAPER

  • This paper is from the gypsum board. It contains a small percentage of gypsum dust therefore conditioning the paper and enabling the paper to absorb moisture

SAWDUST

  • This sawdust is kiln dried and is from untreated wood . It works very well on its own and also works well mixed with gypsum

SAWDUST & GYPSUM MIX

SAWDUST & GYPSUM MIX
  • The sawdust and gypsum mix again is a good bedding material for anyone who is wishing to use gypsum but has had problem with gypsum sticking to the cubicles.
  • By adding the sawdust it keeps the gypsum moving off the bed but retains all the benefits of the gypsum
